The Koh - Tan Suite:-
Based on an old
rosewood house found on the nearby island of Koh-Tan then
dismantled and reassembled here, this magnificent craftsman's
residence has been internally redesigned and is an experience in
elegance. A breathtaking entrance atrium leads onto a beautifully
furnished lounge with full-length balcony offering stunning views
over the Southern Isles to the mainland 30 miles away. Two
bedrooms, (ensuite naturally), and extra beds in the lounge if
required make it ideal for two couples or the height of luxury
for a family. A private swimming pool built into an elevated
promontory directly in front of the suite, its isolation from all
other rooms and our quality room service make this fine house
particularly suitable for persons requiring absolute
privacy.

The Hua - Thanon Suite :-
This house was taken
from the local village of "Hua Thanon" and rebuilt here in the
direct centre of and right on the beach. Two ensuite bedrooms,
both with beautiful ensuite bathrooms, and a further "bunk room"
to the rear with two sets of bunk beds, (four children, room
accessed from both main bedrooms), make this lovely house equally
suited to a single family, (bring the in-laws), two couples or
even two families of good friends. It has a small entrance
lounge, big covered balcony and each main bedroom leads out onto
its own private balcony via sliding glass doors. The view is
right out along the beach to the dramatic sculptural rock
formation on the point.

The Ma-Ret Suite
:-
This lovely old
house was moved from a nearby village and re-sited on its own
sandy cove just ten meters from the beach. It has two ensuite
bedrooms and a huge attic lounge which can, alternatively, double
as a big bedroom for up to eight children. Below, bordered by
rocks in a cool, almost cave-like atmosphere, is a day-lounge
with beach furniture and showers. With a choice of
air-conditioning or fan-cooling in all rooms and a private
swimming pool directly in front, this unique house and setting is
ideal for a large family or a small group of friends.

The Honeymoon Suite :-
is in the studio suite style but it is the
most remotely located house on the premises and is the only one
not to have a separate children's room. The entire interior is
open-plan and flows onto balconies in front and to the
sunset-side where there is a little tub to cool oneself while
sipping a cocktail. This suite is very popular and often books
months in advance. It has just received a renovation which
includes a hugely expanded balcony to take full advantage of the
panoramic views.

The Studio Suites :-
Each studio
is an old Southern Thai house faithfully rebuilt here with
interior redesign to a most comfortable and elegant standard.
Although broadly similar in size and specification, each is
different and is named after the village from which it was
removed. They are of open-plan design with the bedroom, living
area and balcony flowing into each other and all have a separate
bedroom with a set of bunk beds for children. They all have
air-conditioning and are also fully screened with fans, giving
one the choice of either style of cooling. These stylish and
romantic little houses are ideal for either couples or small
families.

Standard room
:-
228-234 (The
Lotus pond house) These are our most modern
standard rooms, beautifully designed, elegant and comfortable
each has individual characteristics and its own style.
#228 has a double
bed in the main room and set of full-size bunk beds in a
separate area with folding, ventilated wooden screens giving
parents privacy from children. There is a children's play-house
in the garden.
#229 has two floors. A double bed and the bathroom upstairs and
two single beds downstairs.
#230 has a double bed in the main room and set of
full-size bunk beds in a separate area. It interconnects both
via a retracting balcony wall and via an internal door with #231
which has just two single beds. These two rooms are often booked
as a pair. See special rate and conditions for occupancy by one
family on page
#232 has two single beds and #233 has a double bed and set
of bunk beds. These two interconnect in the same manner as
#230 & 231 above and. likewise are often booked as a
pair.
#234 is similar to #228, i.e. double bed and set of bunk
beds in separate area but no children's house in
garden. |

Seafront standard rooms :-
212-215. These were our
first standard rooms. They are right on the seafront. Some may
like this position while others may prefer to retreat to the more
private location of some of the other standard rooms in the heart
of the resort and away from passers-by on the beach. All these
have a double bed and a pair of full-size bunk-beds in the same
room.

Standard rooms
:-
224-227.
The pair shown are #224 & 225. These have a retractable
balcony-dividing wall which joins the two balconies into one
large gathering space. This pair do not connect internally. The
pair to the right, (#226 & 227 -- not shown in this photo),
are the same except that they DO connect by an internal door as
well as via the balcony.
Each
has a double bed and a set of bunk beds in the same room and a
bathroom with shower and small tub. These are clean, compact
rooms with all facilities and represent good value for couples or
families who like to be outdoors a lot and just need a nice,
comfortable room to base themselves from. Their proximity to the
restaurant and pool, and the fact that they have tiled floors
instead of polished wood, makes them a good choice for children,
but if parents require privacy from their children at night then
they must choose either two adjoining/interconnecting rooms, a
studio suite or, perhaps, one of the standard
rooms |

The Original Bungalow Village:-
Although small the Thatched cottages, with woven bamboo walls
have room service telephones and solar hot water. They are
designed with couples in mind and have one double bed with a
further single bed in a tiny attic room. We have adjoining
bungalows for families. They are fan-cooled and are not screened.
One sleeps under a mosquito net. With these rooms we try to
realize the tropical island fantasy of a thatched cottage on the
beach, beneath the stars. The construction is so open that give
the feeling of almost camping-out. This is their charm for some,
but for others they may not be suitable. An integral part of the
philosophy of Laem Set is to create an interesting gathering of
people from all walks of life, not excluding younger persons and
not becoming an elitist establishment. These bungalows enable us
to offer the experience of Laem Set to persons who appreciate
style and quality, but who might find the other styles
inaccessible.

Bungalow
Suite:-
These were originally two
adjoining bungalows which have been converted to a thatched
"suite" with air-conditioning, (they are also screened and have
ceiling fans -- the choice is yours). The two bungalows, now
joined together into one have a main bedroom with ensuite
bathroom, a lounge with another bathroom leading off from it and
capability to sleep an extra couple.
There are a further two small attic rooms capable of
accommodating two children aged 5 - 7 or one older child each.
The recommended occupancy is thus two adults and up to four
children with the option of adding a maid/nanny or in-law. Two
families who are really good friends, each with two children,
can squeeze in together but at that point you might like to look
at one of the larger suites.
